IELTS (International English Language Testing System)
The IELTS program is the world’s most popular English language proficiency test for higher education and global migration (IELTS Canada). The IELTS test assesses reading, writing, listening and speaking, and is designed to reflect how you will use English in everyday life such as at study, career, in day to day life, or when moving to an English speaking country. The IELTS program is accepted worldwide in countries such as Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK and the US. It is also recognized by schools, universities, employers, and immigration authorities (IELTS Canada).
At iSmart, our tutors will provide students the help they need for the IELTS program. Our tutors will provide students with supplementary material from past IELTS programs. Our tutors will provide reading and writing material in the format of the IELTS exam, as well as listening material, and speaking practise. Our tutors will teach students how to identify keywords and also provide a template for students to understand the expectations and the format of the IELTS exam. Students will also practise under the expected time of each section, simulating the IELTS exam.
- Speaking: Tutors have topics from past IELTS exams and can practise speaking with students and provide them appropriate responses, and responses within the time that IELTS exams gives for the speaking section to practise
- Listening: Tutors have listening material from past IELTS exams that students can practise. Listening exercises will be given and students will be assessed during the session and within the time frame similar to the IELTS exam
- Reading: Tutors will provide students with IELTS reading material from past exams. Students will learn to identify keywords to help them answer multiple choice questions, sentence completion, complete diagrams and charts, true/false, classification and matching exercises
- Writing: Students will be given writing Tasks 1 and writing Tasks 2 to practise their writing. Tutors will show students how to effectively read charts/graphs and how to properly format essays, as well as teach vocabulary to meet the expectations of the IELTS exam.
